I was inspired to do this quilt after a visit to the Church of the Sacred Heart in Paris, France. This quilt became the first in The Churches Series.
I used permanent ink to do a sketch on fabric of an original photograph and colored it with fabric paints. Free motion machine quilted. Embellished with beads, embroidery, yarn, hand-knit hearts, buttons, metal findings, and digital prints on fabric of medals of St. Theresa of Lisieux and St. Dennis, stamp of Joan of Arc, and photo of the inside of the church. The calligraphy was hand-written by me.
