Patricia A. Hinojosa Fiber Art
Episcopal Church of the Epiphany
2008
Art Quilt
18"w x 18"h
-SOLD-

Fourth in “The Churches Series.”
The inspiration for this quilt was the many years my family and I spent as members of this church, the architecture of the building itself, and unique rose window.
The ink sketch on fabric was made from an original photograph and colored it with fabric paints. Free machine quilted. Embellished with seed beads, metal findings, glass beads, yarn, buttons, hand-knit heart, hand embroidery, hand-written calligraphy on fabric and on *"Papel Amate" from Mexico. The symbols used have a very personal meaning to me.

*Papel Amate is Mexican bark paper, hand-crafted for centuries and still made today.
